Overview

A Brief History into the 1995 Ducati 916 Varese

Already one of the more rare and iconic Ducati motorcycles, the 1995 Ducati 916 Varese holds a special place in motorcycle history. It was one of the 2,663 916’s to be hand-built in the Varese factory due to a fire at the assembly line in Bologna. The 916 led Ducati to four World Superbike Championship victories in '94, '95, '96, and '98.

The Unique Story of the 916

In 1994, Ducati was experiencing unprecedented demand for the 916. Every first-year 916 in the US was spoken for before it left Italy. However, a tragic fire halted production at the Bologna factory. To continue building this iconic motorcycle, manufacturing was relocated to the Cagiva-owned MV Agusta factory in Varese. Here, approximately 2,663 Ducati 916s were assembled, predominantly by hand, to keep the dream alive.

Notable Features and Pricing

Upgrades and Special Features

The Varese-built bikes came with several upgrades, such as Pankl conrods, the programmable P8 ECU from the earlier SP5 race bike, and other unique features not found on the Bologna-built bikes. Many of these Varese models sported the Cagiva logo stamping, distinguishing them from their counterparts.

It starts, runs, and shifts smoothly, and is ready for registration in any state.
