Rare 1984 Kawasaki KR250A1 – A Legendary Two-Stroke Machine -A Grand Prix-Inspired Road Bike

To celebrate four years of dominance in lightweight 250cc Grand Prix racing, Kawasaki designed and built the KR250A1. This road-going model took inspiration from the championship-winning race machines piloted by legends Kork Ballington and Anton Mang. Designed for the competitive 250cc Production class, the KR250A1 took on rivals like the Suzuki RG250 and Yamaha RZ250.

Performance and Design

With a weight of 134kg, the KR250A1 was positioned between the RG250 (131kg) and RZ250 (145kg), offering a balanced blend of agility and stability. All three bikes produced nearly identical power figures—around 24.5 kW at the rear wheel—making the KR250A1 a serious contender in its class. This rare two-stroke gem is a true collector’s item, seldom seen on the market today.
